The Ambient Story - Our Early Years
Long before Ambient expanded into the broad range of building materials we offer today - MagPanel® MGO board, bamboo plywood, LVP, eucalyptus, and more - we started as something much simpler: a small, close-knit team with a deep belief in bamboo flooring and a determination to do things differently.
It was our trades customers - contractors, builders, and flooring professionals - who first pushed us to expand. They liked what we stood for and wanted more of it across more product categories. We listened, and we grew. The timeline below captures those early years, when we were primarily a flooring brand just finding our footing - humble beginnings that we're genuinely proud of.
Ambient Is Founded
One of the first companies worldwide to pioneer strand woven bamboo - an eco-friendly floor 2-3× harder than traditional hardwood. Also among the first to popularize mailing flooring samples directly to our customers.
Annual Independent Safety Testing Begins
Partners with PSI Engineering (now Benchmark) to begin voluntary annual product testing. All products far exceed OSHA, E1, and E0 standards - a tradition continued unbroken for 20 consecutive years.

Ambient is a national company. We ship our products to all 50 states and to customers around the world - from residential homeowners ordering a few boxes to commercial contractors sourcing materials for large-scale projects. Wherever you are, we can get product to you.
