The Ambient Scholarship

At Ambient, our mission to help improve the environment goes beyond creating sustainable building materials. We're also encouraging of further education in the field of environmental studies and are proud to give back to the community by providing a $500 Scholarship Award to one student each year.

At Ambient we care about more than just providing customers with the highest quality, eco-friendly building materials like bamboo flooring and Magpanel, we also care about helping the youth in our community reach their goals, specifically in academics, providing education regarding the environment. This is why we are investing in the education of the next generation vis-a-vis a great scholarship opportunity. We want to help one student who shows an interest in sustainability by providing funds to pay for tuition, books, or other school-related expenses via our annual merit-based scholarship award.

Scholarship Selection Process and Award Details

Upon receipt of each application, our team will carefully review the essay and select the student who provides a thoughtful and insightful response, showing their true views on sustainability and how bamboo flooring can make a difference in helping the planet.

If selected, the winning student will receive $500 in scholarship funds. Like previously mentioned, these funds have to be used to pay for qualified expenses, including but not limited to tuition, books, and on-campus housing for the current academic year.

Scholarship programs are a great way for students to lessen their student loan debt and tuition costs, helping them focus more on their studies. When students apply to our scholarship program, they're applying for the chance to receive assistance with rising college expenses and interact with a leading company in the bamboo flooring industry.

Our team is excited to review all of the applications we receive for our scholarship program and make a difference in one student's academic career.

Applicant Eligibility and Requirements

Basic Applicant Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. resident.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year college.
  • Must have completed at least 10 hours of volunteer work for a non-profit in the environmental sustainability field within the last 12 months.

Essay Topics

The student must write a specific essay related to one of the two themes in below boxes

Analyze the environmental benefits of using sustainable building materials vs other options as it applies to a reduction of humanity’s carbon footprint.

2

Evaluate the ecological role bamboo has played throughout history and determine to what extent, if any, bamboo will contribute to a more sustainable planet.

Submit Your Essay

To apply, qualified students can submit the form below. The deadline for submissions is each year on September 1st. The winner will be notified individually and announced on or around September 14th each year. **Please ensure your essay clearly states which of the two prompts above you chose to write about.

Submissions that do not meet the essay topic and word count guidelines (must be 2,000+ words) will NOT be eligible for scholarship award.

Well, bamboo flooring is a great alternative for hardwood flooring. Not only is it a more cost-effective option, but it's less harmful to the environment. In just five to seven years, both bamboo and eucalyptus are fully matured without the use of fertilizers or pesticides. And after we harvest the bamboo, the same plant grows back! We don't have to take up more space by planting more bamboo.
